Book Reviews

A happily married couple's vacation visit to the city of brotherly love is soon met with unimaginable tragedy. The events are tragic but the story is one of strength and triumph over despair. The whole world can become the enemy when you lose what you love, but with the humorous wit of the author we are guided through a number of life's biggest setbacks and struggles. This is a story of victory not defeat that can be read by everyone, black or white, young or old, rich or poor and anyone who reads this story will benefit existentially from the author's acute wisdom!

I just finished reading this book and I'm in awe. The bravery, strength, ability and faith to forgive is unparalleled. I laughed, cried, was in shock, mad, disappointed....soooo many emotions and yet the biggest one was love. I felt the love between you and Woody, a mothers love and that sisterly love. I don't know how you did it and how you continue to do it but I commend you. I heard myself saying "oh that couldn't be me" so many times in my head but then your words after whatever I just read would have to say "it's her faith and love". I can only pray that my faith and love will sustain me when I need it to. Thank you for allowing me into your world and taking me on this detour of your life. Woody, Marcus and Denise are smiling, dancing and singing your praises with this one. You did good by them and I hope putting words to paper gave you some comfort.

Diane is such a phenomenal storyteller.  I was captivated from the very beginning and never put the book down.  I laughed and I cried.  I was grateful that Diane shared her personal journey through such tragedies with the world.  I learned a lot about family bonds, grief, and myself. I know this book will help so many that are on their own journeys.  Get this book for yourself, and gift one to someone you love.
